    It is of paramount importance that some issues are clarified before you proceed with your registration. A polite request is that you read this document carefully before you return this form: After our first successful banger rally in 2023, this is the second challenge organised by Caravan Challenges, scheduled for 20th December 2024, over the holidays. It is an un-supported challenge. The Challenge is a once in a lifetime journey through different countries, meeting locals, experiencing different cultures, enjoying local foods, and admiring the beauty and creation of the Almighty Creator.     ABOUT RALLY: The Banjul banger challenge is to raise money for CARAVAN OF MERCY to fund its ongoing projects in The Gambia and West Africa. Your car must be handed over to Caravan of Mercy upon arrival to The Gambia to be auctioned for local projects. There are no exceptions. PLEASE NOTE THE CAR MUST BE PURCHASED AT THE PERSONAL EXPENSE OF THE APPLICANTS. Personal expenses will be covered by each Participant. If any participant gets support from his family and friends for the cost and expenses for the trip separately, there is no problem with this.     The Mobile Medics

    The 2019 Tour de Gambia group of cyclists consisted of a number of medical professionals (3 doctors and 2 pharmacists) who were kind enough to set up 5 medical surgeries giving free medical advice and free medication to locals along their cycle route. One generous donor from Leicester UK, donated approximately £4,000 of medication for the surgeries. Over 1,000 patients benefitted.

    Cycle mission 2019

    In 2019, a number of UK Muslims from all walks of life, flew to the Gambia with a mission. Their goal was to raise £50,000 by cycling through the small West African country called, The Gambia, known affectionately as ‘the smiling coast of Africa’. The Gambia is home to various Caravan of Mercy charity projects with an office in the country’s capital, Banjul. 24 cyclists from England and Wales visited the COM schools and students and helped in distributing food and medicine to the poor and needy.     Tour de Gambia 2019

    The last cycling event in the Gambia took place in January 2019 and British cyclists raised almost £50,000 for the poor and needy in West African. We found 24 amazing Brits of all ages and sizes from around the UK to take part in an equally amazing cycle challenge through the Gambia. The purpose was to raise money for Caravan of Mercy projects there through sponsorship. Alhamdullilah, (praise be to God) altogether, the cyclists managed to raise £49,000 which was used to benefit the people of Gambia and West Africa.
